This was the very first battle in the Civil War. It was when the Confederacy raided Fort Sumter in South Carolina. The Union rushed over there to try to stop the raid. But in the end, the Union was defeated and the Confederacy just got stronger. If the Union had won this battle, then the Civil War might've been over sooner.

The Battle of Fort Sumter
