Union Brigadier General Irvin McDowell

This is a Union brigadier general named Irvin McDowell. He was the commanding Union general at the first battle of Manassas. He is also responsible for the Union army's great defeat at the first battle of Manassas. After the Union army was defeated at the first Manassas, Union president Abraham Lincoln relieved McDowell from command.
