Confederate Lieutenant General John Pemberton

This is a man named John Pemberton. Pemberton was the commanding general for the Confederate army at the battle of Vicksburg. Believe it or not, Pemberton was a turncoat. "Turncoat" is another name for a traitor. Pemberton was just like major general Benedict Arnold from the Revolutionary War. Benedict Arnold was a turncoat because he was fighting in the American army from 1775 to 1780. In 1780, Arnold was angry that he was not one of the highest-ranking officers in the American army. So, he joined the British army hoping to help them capture West Point. The British had little use for Arnold so he left the colonies for England in 1781. John Pemberton is just like that. Pemberton was annoyed at the fact that he wasn't as important as general Grant, general Meade, or general Reynolds. So, in 1862, Pemberton left the Union army and went to fight for the Confederate army. However, his loss at Vicksburg made the higher-ranking Confederate officers think that he was incapable of being the commanding general at a big battle like Vicksburg.

You have no idea what you're talking about... try reading some civil war history before writing about it.
